Mama's Pearls...We are Bought With The Blood of Jesus

Mom read the King James Version of the Bible all her life! She quoted it, prayed it and lived it!!! Praise God!

Acts 20:28
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over which the Holy Ghost hath made your over seers, to feed the Church of God, which He hath purchased with His own blood!

God loves us...
Nothing has power over the blood!

Satan may ensnare us if we aren't listening to God and reading and obeying His Word...
"But God says to Satan No, devil you can't have my child, He/She is mine I have purchased that child, Now release my property..."

We belong to God
Psalm 37:28  He the Lord...forsaketh not His saints, they are preserved forever!

David was also a God-possessed man...

He was a giant killer
He was anointed a Psalm-writer
Used mightily of God
He was a King used to rule God's people.

The Lord Himself called David a man after His own heart...

Yet, at the very height of God's blessing and favor, David gave into lust...

He had just won a lot of victories over enemy after enemy. He had recaptured and restored the ark. He had received from the Lord a promise of an ever lasting house.

II Samuel 8:14  The Lord preserved David wherever he went. (last part of the verse)

Preservation -He preserves the faithful...

Deuteronomy 6:24 And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

Psalm 31:23 O Love the Lord, all ye his saints, for the Lord perserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.

Psalm 37:28 For the Lord loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints, they are preserved forever, but the wicked shall be cut off.

Psalm 146:9 The Lord perserveth the strangers, He relieveth the fatherless and widow, but the way of the wicked He turneth upside down.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed, for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee, yea I will help thee, yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Proverbs 2:8 He keepeth the paths of judgment and perserveth the way of His saints.

Isaiah 49:8 Thus saith the Lord, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages.

II Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto His heavenly kingdom, to who be glory forever and ever. Amen.

We need to see God in the scriptures. If we look for Him we will find Him. Because He never leaves us, He never forsakes us.

We get off to our own doings and mess up. But if we come back to Christ Jesus and mean what we say, if we repent (turn around) He gives us a cool drink.

We sometimes say I'm not like Moses or David. But we are all made in the same image.

Have you been surprised and overtaken by a lust of some kind?

You had a clean history, an admirable walk with Jesus. You were known and regarded as a righteous servant, someone in love with the Lord.

But...the devil got you in his sights and took aim...and shot a hellish arsenal of fiery darts...

Maybe your fall was adultery...
Maybe it was pornography...
Or secret drinking....
Like David, your sin found you out, and you were exposed.

You may say, "I don't have any such sin in my life, I have a clean walk."

But what about 'unbelief?' Gossip? Selfishness? Sin is sin!

Maybe God didn't answer a prayer like you thought He should. You were overcome with unbelief, you became depressed, fear, anxiety set in you were angry at God.
Suddenly, you began to doubt God's presence. That thought is a Satanic snare.

The devil likes nothing better than to destroy the faith of every God possessed believer.

God is greater...but when these things come...we must cry out to God in the name of Jesus...resist the devil and He will flee! Amen!!!

Mama's Pearls - Bread of Life Part II

From the journal of Pearl Jeannette Holman

Mama's Pearls - Bread of Life Part II

On the Lord's day we have the ordinances of: Preaching, United Prayer and Praise. It keeps us occupied.

But we need to search our hearts and ask if our hearts are in all this or if we are only going through the motions?

We are close to God when we are in solitude...How do you feel toward God when you are alone with Him?

Do we do all the talking?

Are we filled with pride and think we're doing Him a favor by praying?

Are we listening to the Holy Spirit?

We need to let our hearts be the temple in whom Holy silence, and His voice is heard.

We are to rest in God...Then God will say to our heart, This is my rest, here I will dwell.

I John 2:28  And now little children, abide in Him, that, when He shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.

If we will prayerfully consider taking a journey through God's Word as revealed in Psalm 119, we will find a purposeful path.

As we learn to develop spiritual disciplines of: Reading, Studying, Meditating, Memorizing, Praying, and Seeking, Repentance, Obedience, Suffering, Celebration, (Rejoicing and Praising), Testifying, and Journaling, we will gradually become a reflection of Christ Jesus Himself.

Psalm 119:18 Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.

It is to be with Him, and we read it all the days of our life so that we may learn to revere the Lord our God and follow carefully all the words of His law and His desires.

Deuteronomy 17:19  And it shall be with Him, and He shall read therein all the days of His life that He may learn to fear the Lord His God to keep all the words of this law and these statutes to do them.
  • Study the verse
  • Meditate on the verse
  • Pray through the verse
  • Repentance
  • Ask: Is the Lord asking me to do something in this verse
  • Begin immediately to be obedient
We want a refreshing?
We do our part and God will do His.

Jesus said, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God! Matthew 4:4

God spoke the word...and it was so....When trials come speak the word of God!

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God! Romans 10:17

Mama's Pearl-Bread of Life Part I

This message is taken from one of my mama's many journals of sermons. She passed away in July of 2015. Pearl Jeannette Holman was an Evangelist for over fifty years. I hope this will inspire you and draw you closer to the Lord Jesus. Her prayer was, Lord help me, so I can help others and Lord Jesus save my family...

Part I - Bread of Life!

We live in an age of quick fix.
We want instant truth along with instant breakfast cereal and instant car washes. When it comes to spiritual things, we want God to drop truth from heaven into our hearts without our having to bother studying.

Perhaps this in part explains the yen for alleged Spiritual revelations, words of wisdom and sudden impressions. Instead of laboriously searching scripture to find an inspired answer, people prefer to look to a Christian guru to pronounce instruction over them. They unwisely look to fallible people for God's plan for their future.

Others fail to grasp scripture meaning due to a lack of dependence on the Holy Spirit's enlightenment.

We are to hide God's word in our hearts...(the Psalmist said in Psalm 119:11) Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.

What is bread?

Wheat that is grown in the ground, crushed and fed to the face.

What do we need?

We need the bread of Life. Christ prayed in Matthew 6, Give us this day our daily bread. He prayed this even before he prayed for forgiveness. The physical need and the spiritual need. Both are vitally essential for life.

We must feed on the bread of life. The word of God, is, the bread of Life!

Only Christ Jesus can satisfy our needs...
Christ is our answer...Look at Jesus...He says, come!

Matthew 6:6 When you pray, enter into thy closet, and when you have shut the door, pray to thy father, which is in secret; and thy father which seeth in secret, shall reward you openly. (7) But when your pray, use not vain repetitions as the heathen do: For they think  that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

When Jesus asked God to sanctify His followers through the truth, He added that God's Word constitutes truth.

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: Thy Word is Truth.
God, it's inspirer, yearns to make and keep His children more holy.

God's word gives directions for the Christian to progress in the sanctified walk.

God's word enters our lives in sanctifying power.

A digested food with in our body somehow becomes nourishment, energy, health, renewal and growth, so the digested manna (the bread of life) of the scripture becomes our ongoing sanctification in the spirit which strengthens the body as well.

Matthew 4:4 Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

Scripture both informs us about continuing sanctification and supplies the means for such abundant living.

Reading fine Christian books can explain and reinforce what we read in scripture. But such reading must never substitute the Holy Word of God. We must ask God to manifest Himself to us through His Holy Word.

Who Do We Appreciate - Mama's Pearl

"Who Do We Appreciate?"

Read: Matthew 26: 6-13; Mark 14:3-9; Luke 7: 37-38; John 12: 1-8; I Corinthians 13: 1-3.

Cheer leaders say...two, four, six, eight...who do we appreciate?

How do we show that appreciation?

We say, "Thank you."

1. Do we give a compliment?
2. As parents, do we build up our children?
3. As children, do we help our parents?
4. As a husband, do we give our wives little gifts, maybe a note sweetly phrased or a rose?
5. As a wife, do we build up our husband's and speak well of him? Bring him a cup of coffee or his favorite drink, tell him how nice he looks.
6. Give compliments and tell each other daily that we love one another?

Mary, the woman, honored Jesus with all she had, her most valuable possession she gave to him. (John 12: 3-11)

What is your most valuable possession? Are you willing to give it all to Jesus? Will you risk ridicule and rejection to show your appreciation for Him. Do you love Him more than what others may say about you?

Be thankful, be bold, dare to be courageous and pour out your love for a King who was disguised as a man...let the odor of ointment from the broken alabaster box, fill the room, a sweet smelling savor...He was born a man, but returns a King!

Please Be Kind to the Elderly

Marla Shaw O'Neill
November 11, 2014Edited

I'm spending a little time with my sweet mom this week she's such an amazing woman. Strong even when she's weak! I watch her read her bible every morning. I've ...learned so much from her. Talk about a Veteran...she's in the army of the Lord Jesus Christ.
She felt like she could do a little shopping today so I took her to the store. She holds onto the buggy and shuffles along taking a snails pace as we go. I am honored and blessed to be with her. If there was ever a woman of God she is definitely one of His. So as we walked along I ignored a comment that was said behind us. I didn't really think he was talking about us. A man, I'd say in his fifties, said in agony, "This is going to take all day."

Mom decided to cross over to another aisle and I heard, "No, no, no!" I turned around and gave him "the Shaw" look. Yes my family knows "the" look. He gave a little grin but I was not amused...I said, "She has cancer." The lady he was walking with said, "I do too, and I understand. I'm sorry." The man shut his mouth and took off in a flash. I just don't understand people. Sometimes all the love and kindness I need to have for "dumb" people just turns into out and out anger when they do and say stupid things. Please try to be more patient with the elderly. We never know what they are battling. It's hard to watch those we love suffer, knowing there's nothing we can do about it but pray.

Maybe the guy was in a big hurry, but he could have just kept his mouth shut and gone around us... I had to vent.
The really cool thing, though, is that I had to get something to eat so we stopped at the Subway in the store, we prayed over our food. Mom couldn't eat her soup. But I noticed at the table next to us was a girl with her back to us, she was reading a bible. She was sitting there with another lady. Mom and I get up to leave and mom says to them, "That's a good thing you're doing, reading your bible." The girl I'd say was in her early thirties, broke down and began to cry. She had tried to take her life five times...Mom said, "come on Marla let's pray with her." Her name is Christine, and Angela was the case worker with her. My mom as weak as she was took the time to minister to someone she didn't even know. It was a divine moment in the life of a broken, hurting soul. She was encouraged and I know without a doubt, God had us meet her and pray for her right there in the Wal-Mart. She was smiling when we were through. It doesn't take much to spread love. If there's anything I've learned from my mom it's to be instant in season and out. You never know when God is going to use you for His purpose! And what Joy when we see Him move in the lives of others.

Thank you!
Mom is in heaven now, she passed away July 16, 2015, but she will never ever be forgotten!

Prayer Brings Power - Mama's Pearl

1. Prayer Brings Power!

2. Power Brings Praise!

3. Praise Brings Victory!

Prayer, Problem, Provision...

We cannot Praise if we have sin in our lives~
Because sin blocks us off, from the presence of God~

Like a cloud between the sun and us~

Sin is like the cloud between God's son and us...
So we try to hide as Adam and Eve did...

But...
When we pray and repent...
Then the praise flows!

Come Walk With Me - Mama's Pearl Part 2

Come Walk With Me - Mama's Pearl

Part 2

I Kings 2:4
1. Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die, and he charged Solomon his son saying,

2. I go the way of all the earth, be thou strong therefore an show thyself a man.

3. And keep the charge of the Lord thy God, to walk in His ways to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and His judgments and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest and whithersoever thou turnest thyself.

4. That the Lord may continue His word which He spoke concerning me, saying, "If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man or the throne of Israel.

2 Kings 20:3
Hezekiah was sick unto death...

Isaiah went to him and told him...

"Thus saith the Lord, SET YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER FOR YOU SHALL DIE AND NOT LIVE."

Hezekiah turned his face to the wall, and prayed:

"I beseech you, O Lord, remember now how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in your sight...

Hezekiah wept sorely... (I've been there, have you?)

God heard Hezekiah and sent Isaiah back with a word...(Praise God for His word)

"The God of David thy father,  I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears, I will heal you. On the third day you shall go to the house of the Lord...and I will add to your life fifteen years...and I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the Assyrians and I will defend this city for mine own sake. And for my servant David's sake.

God told Isaiah to take a lump of figs and lay it on the boil and Hezekiah recovered.

Psalm 56:13
David prayed:

For you have delivered my soul from death, will you not deliver my feet from falling that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

Psalm 116:9
I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.

We must walk in truth!

Psalm 26:3
For thy loving kindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.

Psalm 86:11
Teach me thy way O Lord, I will walk in thy truth, unite my heart to fear thy name.

2 John
4. I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth...as we have received a commandment from the father...YE ARE OF GOD LITTLE CHILDREN, AND HAVE OVERCOME!

3 John
3. For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth...

4. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

Hebrews 5:8-9
Though Jesus was and is the son of God, yet learned He obedience by the things which he suffered and being made perfect, He became the Author of Eternal Salvation to all them who obey Him.

Jesus said, "I do those things that please Him...

Isaiah 53:3
He is despised and rejected of men, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as if it were our faces from Him, He was despised and we esteemed Him not.

John 1:11
He came to His own, and His own received Him not.

Jesus asked His disciples, after two years of ministry...

Matthew 16:15
"Who am I?"

He knew who he was...

He asked this question knowing His true identity could not be known by outward observations, BUT ONLY BY HEARING FROM HIS FATHER...WHO HAD SENT HIM.

1. They walked with Him, but at times did not understand.
2. Jesus as a child, I'm sure, heard others call Him names.

~Jesus is saying, "Come walk with me."~
